Berkshire County Head Start Education Site Manager in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

As a member of the mid-level leadership team, the purpose of this position is to assist in the development, implementation, and communication of a sound program mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures according to national standards and current best practices. The Education Site Manager manages operations specific to the childcare programming offered at one or more locations in Berkshire County, MA. This position has an advanced understanding of program enrollment requirements and processes defined by governing agencies and funding entities including but not limited to: The Office of Head Start (OHS), the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), Eligibility, Department of Children & Families (DCF), Massachusetts Childcare Financial Assistance (CCFA) system, and Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) of children in early childhood education programs. In collaboration with the Childcare Manager and others, the Site Director is responsible for accurate and up-to-date electronic records, waitlists, and reassessments in the appropriate databases and/or electronic systems specific to the Manager?s location(s). The Education Site Manager is responsible for overseeing classroom instruction, providing coaching to the teaching staff, and monitoring classroom practice through regular classroom observations and feedback to teaching staff. This position must have advanced knowledge in and applying program requirements defined by governing agencies and funding entities including but not limited to: The Office of Head Start (OHS), the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance of children in early childhood education programs (ERSEA) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This position manages a team of professionals and ensures that all staff are trained and are implementing best practices while focusing on the impact all processes have on families and children. This position supports the process of maintaining adequate enrollment, staffing, and billing for the site(s) in collaboration with cross-departmental staff. Requirements Education Bachelors\' Degree from an *accredited institution in Early Childhood, Special Education, or a related field. Credit hours and coursework must align with requirements for Massachusetts EEC Director I/II certification. Experience Department of Early Education and Care Director I/II License Maintain an active Professional Qualifications Registry number per Department of Early Education and Care regulations. Preferred requirements Master\'s degree in Early Education, current Massachusetts EEC Teacher or higher Certification; Completion of professional development in supervision/strategies for working and supporting adults Bilingual in English/Spanish A combination of the following education and experience may be substituted for the requirements: Master\'s Degree and three (2) years of experience in a leadership role in a subsidized and/or Head Start early learning environment. Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated advanced knowledge and application of: - Massachusetts Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences - MA Common Core Standards - Head Start Early Learning Framework - QRIS - Strengthening Families Approach Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
