State of Massachusetts Bridge Academy Director in Randolph, Massachusetts

The mission of the MPTC is to set training standards for and deliver training to all municipal, University of Massachusetts, and environmental police officers in the Commonwealth, including recruit, professional development (in-service), and specialized training to police officers. The Bridge Training Program Academy Director is directly responsible for overseeing the implementation and operation of an MPTC Bridge Academy Training Program mandated by the Police Reform Bill requiring all reserve-trained law enforcement officers to be trained to the same standards as a full-time officer. The Bridge Academy Training Program consists of 120 hours of online training and an additional 80-hours of skills based, live training. Duties Include: 1. Directly report to the Director of Training. 2. Oversee and manage the operation and administration of the Bridge Academy Training Program from the MPTC Headquarters in Randolph. 3. Direct and administer the Bridge Academy Training Program. 4. Work with the Bridge Academy Program Coordinator to monitor and schedule Bridge Academy Skills Classes across the state ensuring the MPTC meets the training needs of the Commonwealth. 5. Direct instructors in preparation and delivery of training programs and monitoring/evaluating instructor performance. 6. Manage the administrative support function related to all Bridge Academy operations, including but not limited to correspondence, meetings, preparation of instructor contracts and invoices, consistent with agency policy and procedures. 7. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience. V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
