RCP, Inc. - Randolph ESOL Teacher in Randolph, Massachusetts

Randolph Community Partnership, Inc. (RCP) is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities and services to speakers of other languages in the Randolph area. These programs are funded by grants from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the federal government. Although housed inside of Randolph High School we are not a part of the Randolph Public School system. We are currently accepting resumes for a part time Advanced Level ESOL teacher. Classes meet twice per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Our classes run from September through June. The ESOL Teacher will provide instruction to adults enrolled in RCP, Inc. Adult Education Program. In addition, s/he will prepare lesson plans and activities for the students. S/he will also work with the other staff to ensure the program is responding to the needs of the students it serves. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Work with program staff to develop a comprehensive curriculum which coordinates and meets the DESE College and Career Readiness Standards including math instruction. -Prepare and submit lesson plans weekly. -Teach two 3 hour classes per week .-Work with the Academic Advisor to administer required DESE program assessments three times per year. (Paid training provided) -Work with the Academic Advisor to help students set and meet their educational and career goals. -Attend monthly staff meetings and required trainings/conferences. -Participate in yearly Professional Development. -Work with other staff and students to plan extracurricular activities. -Attend all extra-curricular activities including field trips and community events. -Complete other duties assigned by the Executive Director. QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelors degree required -Valid teaching certificate required -Creative, energetic and a team player -Experience working with diverse communities -At least 2 YEARS teaching experience REQUIRED, preferably in Adult Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High School or bilingual programs -Experience/knowledge of second language acquisition -Ability to work with and motivate adult learners -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Knowledge of another language helpful but not necessary To apply: http://www.rcpinc.org Or email resume to: susanh@rcpinc.org
