State of Massachusetts Program Coordinator III in Randolph, Massachusetts

The mission of the Municipal Police Training Committee is to develop and deliver training, to set and enforce training standards, and to provide record keeping services regarding training to Municipal Police Departments statewide. These responsibilities are to be carried out in a way that ensures community-oriented professionalism throughout the organization. The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of in-service and all specialized training at one of the MPTC training facilities. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the coordination of the in-service training at the assigned training facility including, creating classes in the MPTC training database, scheduling instructors to train, identifying lesson plans and slide decks appropriate for the training, communicating with the attendees regarding scheduling and the distribution of necessary materials for the classes, developing and administering evaluation surveys at the completion of a class. 2. Responsible for the coordination of the specialized training at the assigned training facility including, creating classes in the MPTC training database, scheduling instructors to train, identifying lesson plans and slide decks appropriate for the training, communicating with the attendees regarding scheduling and the distribution of necessary materials for the classes, developing and administering evaluation surveys at the completion of a class. 3. Responsible for keeping the training calendar for the training facility and notifying the Academy Director of any conflicts or issues. 4. Setting up classrooms, creating signage, nametags and rosters for each class. 5. Be present 30 minutes before each class is scheduled to begin to set up audio visual equipment and ensure everything is working properly. 6. Be present at the close of each class to ensure class completes the evaluations and answer any questions regarding training records. 7. Responsible for updating the MPTC database with information regarding completed classes to ensure an accurate training record for attendees and departments. 8. Ensuring that in-service and specialized training is offered at the facility for a minimum of 40 weeks per fiscal year. 9. Responsible for seeking out new and innovative trainings to host at the MPTC training facility. 10. Responsible for notifying departments and other agencies of available training as well as seeking out the training needs of departments and other agencies. 11. Perform related duties as required and assigned. This position will float to all MPTC location based on the Agency'soperational need. * _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Knowledge of Word, Excel and Sharepoint * Ability to learn the MPTC training database. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills. * Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience. II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.* III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
