We're seeking a qualified individual who will be responsible for:
Program Delivery : Plans, develops, and revises classroom curriculum to meet the physical, emotional, creative and educational needs of assigned students. Evaluates students' level of proficiency in order to prescribe suitable programming and evaluates their progress in meeting educational and social goals by testing, observation, behavior rating scales, and other means, as appropriate. Communicates effectively with parents, outside school districts, and related community contacts while guarding each student's right of confidentiality.**
Regulatory Practices : Participates with the home school district in preparing Individualized Education Plans (I.E.P.) for each student. Verifies that assigned I.E.P.'s meet Federal/State professional standards.**
Therapeutic Environmen t: Establishes a classroom environment conducive to maximum academic and social learning by maintaining order and guiding students to socially appropriate behavior. Supervises students during school-related activities (class trips, extra-curricular activities, meals, etc.), as assigned. Counsels students when behavioral and academic problems arise and serves as a role model and reference person to students in dealing with academic, personal, social, career and vocational problems.**
Professional Development : Communicates and consults with residential and clinical staff (informally or at regularly scheduled staff meetings, treatment plan reviews, etc.) to review administrative matters pertaining to the school or residence
Administration : Controls utilization of classroom equipment and materials; determines need for new supplies and curriculum materials and submits requisition to supervisor for approval.**

Bachelor degree in relevant field and state physical education certification required.
Requires an understanding of learning theories related to working with multiply handicapped individuals.
