Cape Cod Child Development Lead Teacher-Full Time Year Round in Sagamore, Massachusetts

Description Oversee the daily operation of the classroom and establish a positive rapport with each child, family, and staff member. Responsible for developing and implementing the planned curriculum and designing classrooms activities that foster social, emotional, and intellectual skills appropriate to the childrens developmental level, according to state and federal standards. Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the daily operations of the classroom by ensuring a clean, safe, healthy and supportive environment in which preschool children can learn and develop, according to appropriate Early Childhood standards and regulations Plans appropriate classroom activities for children, plans and implements curriculum in accordance with the Standards. Responds to and incorporates curriculum guidelines and recommendations from Supervisor and seeks family input Identifies childrens individual developmental needs, interests, and abilities through assessment and incorporates into daily lesson plans and prepares individual reports as required Completes required paperwork such as attendance records, lesson plans, monthly reports, newsletters and calendar and transmits them to appropriate administrative staff Incorporates use of volunteers. Documents, observes and evaluates as per regulations Conducts two (2) home visits and three (3) parent conferences per assigned schedules, in addition to daily communication with families Attends all meetings and training sessions as required Coordinates and/or completes required screenings, progress reports, health and safety checklists and head checks as required and needed On an ongoing basis, identifies strengths and areas for development of classroom teachers and provides input to the Center Manager Works with the Center Manager to maintain relationships with school district and other community resource personnel Working with appropriate staff, coordinates referrals for individual children for additional services and transitions Follows Cape Cod Child Development Program?s procedure in reporting cases of suspected child abuse and neglect Prepares required reports including but not limited to attendance, meal counts, volunteers, etc. JOB REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required Must be familiar with the state and federal standards and curriculum Must have a desire or ability to work with all children and families and have a thorough understanding of Early Childhood philosophy and the principles of fully including children with special needs Must exhibit professionalism, good judgment, flexibility and organizational skills Must have the ability to work with others in a warm, professional manner and be a positive role model to staff, children and families Must have knowledge of resources available in the community Must have good communication skills and be able to follow complex oral and written directions Must possess a valid Driver?s License and have access to a reliable vehicle for travel MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age. Must be Lead Teacher from the Department of Early Education and Care and meet one of the following: Bachelors Degree from an accepted college or university in Early Childhood or a related field with six (6) courses in Early Childhood, or Associates Degree from an accepted college or university in Early Childhood or a related field with six (6) courses in Early Childhood and enrolled in a Bachelors Program to be completed within three (3) years of the date of hire. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience teaching preschool children. Must have supervisory experience and experience working with families. Must have current CPR/First Aid Certification All educators must demonstrate and maintain at all times physical, mental and emotion
