Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician who can perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage their time efficiently. The ideal candidate will have the ability to evaluate samples using color and olfactory skills, and possess strong project management abilities. This role involves testing experimental formulations, preparing chemical solutions, and maintaining organization in the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively.

  • Evaluate samples using color and olfactory skills.

  • Test all experimental formulations.

  • Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.

  • Prepare and test customer samples.

  • Maintain organization throughout the lab for all experimental and customer sample formulations.

  • Maintain a high level of competence with all test equipment.

  • Help maintain all test equipment in proper working condition.

  • Enter data for the development of materials and other projects.

  • Comply with laboratory safety and environmental protection policies and procedures for handling and disposal of different chemicals.

  • Execute lab test batches and color matching, keeping records in laboratory notebooks and project files according to applicable SOP.

  • Test all materials as assigned before shipment.

  • Complete and maintain QC test sheets for all products tested in a neat manner.

  • Set a daily plan for optimal use of testing equipment.

  • Prepare ASTM slabs.

  • Set daily plans based on the manufacturing backlog.

  • Release materials that have passed testing.

  • Maintain customer certification files.

  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis.

  • Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products

  • Color matching and testing dispersability of new raw materials

  • Quality assurance

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standard

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Sound project management skills

  • Strong data entry skills

  • Experience in maintaining lab equipment

  • Ability to prepare and test customer samples

  • Experience in preparing ASTM slabs

  • Ability to set daily plans based on manufacturing backlog

  • Experience in maintaining customer certification files

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
