LOCATION: Station Avenue Elementary School EFFECTIVE: Immediately 2018-2019 school year Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day, 9:15 AM-3:45 PM with 1/2 hour unpaid meal break SUMMARY Supports the implementation of the Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides direct instructional support to students with disabilities in the classroom or in a separate setting. Implements modifications and accommodations to the environment or curricular materials as directed by the special education liaison or related services provider. Adapts classroom activities and materials under the direction of the special education liaison. Collects data regarding students goals and/or objectives as directed by licensed staff. Assists staff in the management of behaviors by utilizing pro-active pro-social problem solving skills. Knowledge of child development (intellectual, emotional, and physical) and 12 months experience working with students with special needs is desirable.
