Responsibilities

Clinical Educator, Baystate Home Health

The Clinical Educator is an RN with expert knowledge of Home Care and a talent for teaching.They must be able to advance staff knowledge and proficiency in documentation and patient are. The Clinical Educator reports directly to the Director of Quality and collaborates with other agency leaders. The scope of responsibility and accountability for the Clinical Educator role continuously evolves to meet the demands of the practice and regulatory environment. The Clinical Educator assumes a variety of roles including: educator, change agent, team member, leader, and mentor. As health care is in a constant state of evolution, the Clinical Educator plays a pivotal role in helping the organization adapt to the demands of these changes. The Clinical Educator works in partnership with clinical leadership to ensure clinical and regulatory compliance is met by all clinical staff. The Clinical Educator ensures clinical documentation competence so that the Homecare and Hospice EMR facilitates smooth coordination of care, integration of services,clinical decision making and reporting. The Clinical Educator assesses current state of Home Care and Hospice staff competencies and develops a plan to implement ongoing curriculum and competency assessments.

  • Professional Practice Support and Evaluation

  • Educational Program Management

  • Staff Orientation and Competencies

  • Resource Utilization

  • EMR Superuser

  • Obtains CPR Trainer status and certifies staff CPR certification

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Massachusetts Nursing License

  • Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred

  • 3-5 years clinical nursing experience in home care

  • OASIS Certification and experience working as an educator strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in homecare and hospice EMR

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles

  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work within an interdisciplinary team.

  • Valid Driver’s License - Must have a car and a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Motor vehicle report will be reviewed and hiring decision will be based on information obtained
