Description:

Position Purpose :

Plans, directs and performs a variety of electrical repairs, installations and preventative maintenance to include wiring, lighting, alarm systems and emergency generators according to appropriate regulatory codes for the safety and comfort of the facility. Available for emergency calls.

What you will do:

  • Plans, directs and performs the installation, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical equipment; and documentation of the facility’s electrical utilities including the emergency electrical distribution system and generators, in accordance with local state and federal regulatory codes to assure a safe and pleasant environment of care.

  • Responsible for all the timely electrical repairs and installation of electrical equipment in absence of supervisor in compliance all relevant local, state and federal regulatory codes.

  • Responds to emergency calls to all service functions and assists other trades when instructed to assure the safety and operation of the facility.

  • Leads the work of journeyman electrician.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional exposure to occupational hazards such as contagious disease, which requires special precautions.

  • Frequent home and social life disruptions, even though predictable, on most occasions or regular volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis, or work imposes frequent unwelcome disruptions.

  • Requires prolonged standing, walking, or other constant physical movements on a routine basis; or requires remaining in the same position over long periods of time; or eye or ear strain or frequent lifting of moderately heavy items (i.e. 20-40 lbs.).

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.

  • Requires a Journeyman’s Electrical license.

  • Requires a minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience, preferably in Healthcare.

  • Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to understand and perform duties according to blue prints and electrical codes.

  • Ability to work with other trades, patients, visitor and staff to accomplish work objectives.

  • Requires the ability to read and write English.
