The Lead Instructor is responsible for teaching adaptive daily living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities along with overseeing other employees. This is a great opportunity to work in a position where you can develop supervisory skills. Successful applicants will be creative thinkers who can adapt their own interests, such as art, music and health & fitness, to teach others new things through the development of curriculum.
The pay rate for this position is $15.97 per hour. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
Support Instructors in providing personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with both their physical needs and defined support plans. Develop Instructors? ability to adapt and make adjustments to techniques based on functional abilities and limitations. This includes complete familiarity with the profiles and histories of individuals supported and active indications that care and assistance follows the prescribed needs.
Ensure that Instructors are providing curriculum and training for individuals that enhance their Activities of Daily Living (ADL?s) and specialized service needs areas with focus on continual improvement and/or maintenance of their abilities in coordination with all relevant support plans. Assist with ADL?s as needed.
Coordinate the development and implementation of community-based activities that promote personal choice, community inclusion, dignity, and respect while enhancing personal skill development.
Participate in interventions, providing positive, knowledgeable support to employees and managers, ensuring crisis plans and behavior support plans are followed and documented as required by regulations. Complete incident and accident reports in a manner which clearly identifies all components of the intervention.
Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma is required, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
At least two years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is required, along with a passion and dedication to supporting our people.
A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI and fingerprinting.
