The Instructor is responsible for teaching adaptive daily living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a great opportunity to join a fun team who mentor individuals to enhance independence. Successful applicants will be creative thinkers who can adapt their own interests, such as art, music and health & fitness, to teach others new things.
The pay rate for this position is $15.00 per hour. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
Participate in the development and direct implementation of curriculum to teach groups in both a classroom setting and out in the community.
Participate in the development and implementation of the Individual Support Plan, write annual assessments and goals and attend team meetings as scheduled. Develop and implement community-based activities that promote personal choice, community inclusion, dignity, and respect while enhancing personal skill development.
Assess individual training needs, develop descriptive teaching programs and curricula and monitor effectiveness through data collection.
Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with both their physical needs and defined support plans.
Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma is required, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
At least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred, a passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must.
A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI and fingerprinting.
