Brandeis University seeks to hire a Department Administrator to provide operational and administrative support to the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, this staff member organizes and maintains all non-admissions related records for GSAS including academic records for current students and processing status changes. Key Duties: In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, serves as the academic affairs liaison for the readmission process, including the database entry of all student status lines. Processes approved student status changes, creates and distributes letters, tracks leaves of absence, withdrawals and other status changes. Oversees student workers and other staff who perform more routine tasks. Creates and maintains all non-admissions related records for GSAS including DGS lists, Grad Council members and minutes, and academic records for current students. Schedules and documents annual planning meetings. Oversees student workers and other staff who perform more routine tasks. Oversees the planning for internal communications at GSAS which includes maintaining all relevant mailing lists, supervising the writing of the monthly newsletter, supervising the social media strategy, and ensuring that website updates and changes to the faculty/staff portal are made in a timely manner. Oversees office management including office space, equipment and supervising of one part-time staff member and supports student workers providing assistance in communications, student life, and career and professional development efforts in GSAS. Creates and maintains an annual calendar for GSAS. Independently recommends student programs and participates in developing and evaluating them in order to enhance student experience.
