The Department of Computer Science at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the COSI 230b Natural Language Annotation for Machine Learning (4 credits) course in Spring 2025. This course studies corpus linguistics, the computational study of any naturally occurring fragment of language, a key area for data mining, information extraction, and machine learning. Students model, annotate, train, test, evaluate, and revise their own corpus for machine learning. The class meets 2-3 times per week. Timing is negotiable. Candidates with at least a Master\'s Degree in CL/NLP or a closely related field, and teaching and/or industry experience working in in-depth ways with linguistic corpora for NLP will be given preference.
