The Department of Physics at Brandeis University is seeking an adjunct instructor for PHSC 2b, Introductory Astronomy, for the Spring semester of 2022. This course uses elementary physical ideas to discuss the life and death of stars, the structure of the galaxies, and the large-scale features and evolution of the universe. The instructor?s responsibilities include giving three 50-minute lectures per week and providing 1-2 hours/week of office hours. A PhD in Physics, with a specialty in astronomy or astrophysics, is preferred, as are candidates with prior experience as instructors or teaching assistants in astronomy courses. This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local.
