Itinerant Infant Toddler Coordinator Are you looking to grow your leadership skills while still being able to service children as an itinerant TVI? The Infant/Toddler Coordinator is a mid-management role which also carries a caseload that delivers direct and consultative vision services to infants/toddlers age 0-3. Many of the children have additional disabilities. Responsibilities include: assessments, development and implementation of aspects of the individual family service plans being addressed, including preparation of lessons and materials for each individual child. Responsibilities include: Read records, observe and assess children, consult with other generalists, specialists, volunteers and parents or other caregivers, review individual family service plans (IFSPs) and the recommendations of supporting agencies to determine the capabilities, limitations, and needs of each student in the areas assigned to the teacher. Utilize this information to prepare goals, objectives and lessons based on program approved curriculum or other appropriate resources to meet the child?s needs. Prepare and provide instruction through oral presentations, discussions, demonstrations, hand-on activities, modeling, and direct experiences such as engagement in hands-on instruction with various multi-sensory or technology devices. Participate in meetings and serve as a member of the team which is responsible for development and delivery of programs for each student and for overall program planning. Communicate with parents, agency staff, or others, to assure continuity of individual programs. Provides strong leadership, providing strategies and guidance to the Team (families, EI providers and volunteers). Establishes a welcoming environment. Recommend goals and objectives for future programming of individual children and submit these in writing. Participate in transition to school planning and meetings. Design educational programming commensurate with the current best practice in the field of Early Intervention and Special Education including: Functional curriculum; Age-Appropriateness; Community experience; Integration of related services; Context-based instruction; Expanded Core Curriculum, or as determined by appropriate assessments. Prepare reports in the format prescribed by the program supervisor. Meet the program deadlines for submission of completed reports. Submits required documentation (i.e. time sheets, expense sheets, etc.) in accordance with established due dates. Provide ongoing support and supervision to teachers, holding weekly office hours and on-site visits when needed to support them in their work with children and families. In collaboration with the Education Director, represents Perkins and provides in-service training for education professionals and Early Intervention professionals across the state, when necessary. With limited resources, work in consultation with the Education Director to maximize the program?s capacity to meet all children 0-3 in the Commonwealth with vision services. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor?s degree from a recognized college or university. Two years of experience working with preschoolers, and/or school age children with visual impairments who may also have additional disabilities or who are Deafblind. Certification as Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired or commitment to acquire such certification within one academic year. Preference will be given to candidates with: Master?s Degree in Special Education Dual TVI/O&M (eligible for ACVREP certification in O&M). First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) required.
