Learn It Systems Social Skills Group Assistant - Watertown in Watertown, Massachusetts

The Social Skills Group Assistant will assist the Group Leader in teaching a group of 2-5 autistic children social skills using ABA methodology. We are looking for punctual and reliable people who are creative, animated, and can make learning fun while sticking to the procedures. This is a great opportunity to learn about the field of ABA and gain experience for future opportunities. The schedule for this role will be Saturdays only from 8:30-4:30.

Social Skills Assistant: The SSGA is responsible for the following:

  • Praising children for following rules and responding correctly during programs.

  • Consistently implementing reinforcement procedures designed by the SSGL or the behavior analyst.

  • Taking data on group objectives or individual objectives as requested by the SSGL or the behavior analyst.

  • Setting up activities and cleaning up activities to ease transitions.

  • Consistently implementing behavior plans written by the behavior analyst.

  • Running the last activity of the day in a manner consistent with the written curriculum or facilitating a productive and safe free-time.

  • Following the ALC calendar (not individual college calendars).

  • Advising PPC of scheduling changes or PD of employment changes 8 weeks in advance.

  • Reporting for work in a timely manner.

  • Calling in sick as soon as possible (see Sick Policy)

  • Asking for supervision and help whenever needed.

  • Experience working with children, ideally with some exposure to autistic and/or special needs children

  • Punctual, reliable, and patient

  • Upbeat, enthusiastic, and easy-going

  • Able to follow directions consistently

  • Interested in autism and/or special needs children
