Job Description

The Learning Consultant, will use a variety of educational media, tools, and a systematic instructional design methodology to design and develop sophisticated, complex and/or enterprise-wide, state-of-the-art training tools and programs for designated Aetna CVS Health audiences; assesses and reports on the effectiveness and ROI of training programs; supports the skill development of Aetna s learning community.

Fundamental Components included but are not limited to:

  • Consults with organizational senior leaders and work groups to develop complex, specialized learning strategies to improve organizational performance.(*)

  • Conducts performance analysis to determine the expectations and gaps for the intended audiences.(*)

  • Uses formal instructional design methodology to design and develop sophisticated, complex and/or enterprise-wide, performance-based training and educational tools.(*)

  • Writes, designs, and develops custom solutions based on determined need (*)

  • Simultaneously manages multiple, complex projects.(*)

  • Develops and conducts follow-up assessments to determine the effectiveness and ROI of training programs.

  • Works in partnership as appropriate with external vendors to deliver state-of-the-art, technology-based training tools and programs that meet the needs of multiple, diverse audiences and integrate effectively into Aetna s architecture.(*)

  • Communicates regularly with local/regional training delivery staff to manage the rollout of training materials and gather feedback on program effectiveness.(*)

  • Incorporates feedback gathered from participants and other relevant audiences to improve training, processes and products.(*)

  • Effectively manages curriculum, reporting and other relevant administrative requirements through the Aetna Learning Center.(*)

  • Works under the direction of Aetna s learning governance group to develop and implement enterprise-wide learning standards, tools, templates and reporting requirements.(*)

  • Supports the development of skills within Aetna s learning community by managing and participating in the design, development and delivery of state-of-the-art learning methodologies and practices.(*)

Qualifications Requirements and Preferences:

  • Superior knowledge and application of performance-based instructional design methodologies, rapid development, adult learning principles and educational media.

  • Educational background in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles and performance consulting.

  • 5-7 years experience in a corporate training or related function.

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.

  • Master's degree preferred.

The right candidate should be able to utilize the following technology as an advanced user; Storyline 3 and/or Storyline 360, Techsmith SnagIt, Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, SharePoint/SharePoint online, Excel), Adobe Creative Cloud suite of development tools. Audio recording and editing is a desired skill as well as mastered use of animation programs such as Vyond/GoAnimate. Rapid development is a plus. Utilization and interpretation of Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of evaluation is a standard among the team; building a curriculum that includes measurable items is key. A solid understanding, use, and support of Brand Standards and WCAG - Accessibility Standards is very important to us.
