Classroom Assistant Job Details Job ID:4865279 Application Deadline:Posted until filled Starting Date: Immediately Job Description The Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative has an opening for a Classroom Assistant. We are are growing and looking for a Classroom Assistant for our Special Education Program. This position is a full-time, school-year position. General Information: To perform instructional and non-teaching duties assigned by and under the direction of the classroom teacher. Duties may include but are not limited to: helping students with assignment. Supervising individuals and groups. Assisting on field trips. Assisting with preparing and duplicating educational materials and with attendance and other record-keeping. Assisting in managing behavior problems including implementation of behavior intervention plans; or other duties to assist in maintaining the classroom. Job Requirements Highly Qualified Status or willing to achieve Highly Qualified Status. Experience working with students with special needs, especially autism. Ability to be restraint trained and willing to restrain on a daily basis if needed. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis, activities of daily living, augmentative and alternative communication, behavior management, discrete trial teaching, and data collection. Ability to assist students with all academic course work at the elementary to high school level. Must be able to provide physical assistance to students and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Registered Behavior Technician preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred.
