RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and implement a substantially separate Special Education program. Coordinate services with support staff/Education Support Professionals (ESPs). Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans and data collection. Collaborate with all related service providers to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students in the classroom. Provide explicit specialized instruction to students using systematic, structured multi-modal approaches to learning and supports students by offering supplemental and/or alternative curriculum as indicated on the IEP. Collaborates with general education staff and specialists regarding the IEP, student learning styles, differentiated instructional curricula modifications, environmental modifications, and alternative assessments in the least restrictive environment. Modifies the general education curriculum and differentiates the instructor for special needs students based on variety of instructional techniques and technologies. Demonstrates an expertise and knowledge of the MA frameworks in the area of ELA, Math, Science, History, and Social Studies by preparing and teaching objectives and outlines the modified courses of study, following curriculum guidelines of requirements of the state for schools. Develops Individual Educational Programs to include measurable goals and objectives based on current performance using baseline data and facilitates annual review meetings with supervision of Special Education administration. Solicits input from parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and professionals to develop IEPs designed to promote students educational, physical, and social development. Monitor the ongoing appropriateness of IEP and ensure the IEP goals and objectives are followed in general and special education settings. The ideal candidate will provide a positive role model, good behavior, management skills, and respectful interactions with staff and students. Teacher of record will work collaborative with other staff members to manage a Second Grade classroom. Data collection, progress monitoring, report writing, parent engagement, work as grade level team member and other program responsibilities, as assigned. Must keep students safe and secure at all times. Job Requirements MA DESE License in Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8, or Severe Disabilities, all, required Masters Degree, preferred Experience with ASD, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities Experience teaching Special Education students with complex learning needs Working knowledge of Special Education federal and state regulations Work knowledge of Special Education disability areas and their potential impact in the classroom. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with students, teachers, parents, and administration. Experience with the coordinator of cooperative regular and Special Education programs designed to meet individual students educational plan. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Must be flexible and participate as part of the team. Crisis Prevention Intervention training will be provided and must be completed successfully as a condition of employment.
