Primary Purpose
The Telematics System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and overall management of the organization's telematics system. This position will serve as the subject
matter expert and will provide hands-on support and training to users. The Telematics System Administrator will manage the governance of the system while partnering with key stakeholders across the organization.
Essential Functions
Coordinate and configure telematics hardware and software components on vehicles and assets.
Set up data connections and ensure proper integration with the organization's infrastructure.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the telematics system's reliability and accuracy.
Apply firmware updates and software patches as needed.
Monitor data from telematics devices to monitor vehicle or asset locations, performance, and behavior.
Coordinate replacement of non-functioning GPS devices.
Identify and resolve technical issues related to telematics systems.
Provide technical support to end-users, drivers, and other stakeholders.
Implement measures to protect telematics system from unauthorized access and breaches.
Generate reports and analytics based on telematics data, offering insights to improve operational efficiency and asset management.
Train end-users and staff on the proper use of telematics systems.
Maintain documentation, including user manuals and troubleshooting guides.
Liaise with telematics system vendors for procurement, support, and updates.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to the system as technology evolves.
Assist in budget planning and expenditure tracking for telematics system-related costs.
Coordinate invoicing reconciliation efforts.

System Administration experience with advanced
configuration and end user support skills
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to identify opportunities to leverage telemetry functionality to improve process efficiencies.
Strong knowledge of telematics hardware and software, GPS systems, and vehicle tracking technology.
Technical proficiency of network administration and database management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to run configurations, approval processes, and user support.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and follow through with assigned responsibilities.
Ability to perform training and influence stakeholders
Excellent organizational skills and familiarity with Project Management approaches, tools and phases
Familiarity with Power Query, SQL and other analytical tools.
Ability to solve unique problems and develop methods, systems, policies or services.
Solid understanding of integration with other enterprise systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Telematics Professional certification is preferred
CompTIA A+ certification is preferred

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
Salary Range
$66,700.00 – $96,700.00 / year
