What you’ll do
The Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for calculating and submitting specific and aggregate filings to the reinsurance carriers. The Reinsurance Analyst will act as liaison between the reinsurance community and Health Plans Inc.
In this role, you’ll also:
Conduct financial audits of each submission on log sheets
Responsible for calculating specific deductibles on new files
Initiate request for funding from client
Reconcile checks from reinsurance carriers
Provide reports as requested by clients and/or HPI service representative
Format cover letters for Premium Accounting’s check submission to client
Collate all pertinent information necessary for filing (re: accident details, pre-x, etc.)
Maintain files of each submission sent and money received
Perform other various tasks related to reinsurance, or requested by manager
What you bring
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent education
1 - 2 years’ of processing experience, preferably within the self-insured health insurance industry
Knowledge of hospital and provider billing procedures; have the ability to interpret and understand plan document language and stop-loss contract
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Detailed, organized and able to prioritize tasks while working within specific timeframes and meeting deadlines
Recognize and maintain confidentiality and communicate in a professional manner
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
