Job Description


Under direction of the Director of Academic Coaching and Tutoring in the Finucane and O’Sullivan Institute for Learning, the Graduate Intern supports the Department’s mission of promoting academic, personal, and professional growth for the diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations at Regis. The Graduate Intern is a 12-month, 30-hour/week position, starting July 1st, that promotes developmental and professional learning while pursuing a graduate degree.


Essential Functions

  • Lead a student support project that aligns with the Graduate Intern’s strengths and interests in higher education.

  • Participate in departmental research initiatives, which may include intern-initiated research.

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and assessment of departmental programming and events.

  • Provide weekly data entry of the usage of the Institute for Learning.

  • Take minutes at weekly staff meetings.

  • Show discretion through student support initiatives.

  • Maintain confidentiality of students as directed by FERPA.

  • Assist with projects and events within the areas of the Institute for Learning.

  • Adhere to strict student confidentiality as directed by FERPA and other ethical standards.

  • Follow all procedures, policies, and rules for the department and the College.

  • Respond to follow-up questions and concerns as necessary.

  • Provide support to Institute for Learning’s staff when necessary.

  • Perform other related tasks as required.


Additional Information


  • Internship applicants must hold an awarded bachelor’s degree and be accepted, provisionally or fully, into an eligible graduate program.

    Salary and Benefits

  • $6,000 stipend (paid over 12 months)

  • Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.

  • The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission: 30 credits of MA in Strategic Communication, 60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.), and 33 credits of MS in Health Administration.

  • The following fully online programs quality for tuition remission on aspace-available basis: 36 credits of MEd in Student Success, 39 credits of MS in Accountancy (3 credits are not covered by tuition remission.), 42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission.), and 30 credits of Master of Social Work.

  • Courses in the graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and Doctor of Education programs arenot eligiblefor tuition remission.

  • Flexible schedule.

    NOTE:  This is a 12-month position, with the opportunity to continue the position for one additional 12-month term (24-month maximum).


    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Conditions include a normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.

  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.

  • Some evening  and weekend work is to be expected.
