Town of Wilbraham Assistant Adult Services Librarian in Wilbraham, Massachusetts
ASSISTANT ADULT SERVICES LIBRARIAN / PART TIME EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Manages the outreach program for homebound residents and assists with adult programming and collection development. Participates at the circulation desk and provides reference services to library patrons including answering reference questions, assisting customers in the proper use of library technologies systems and serving as an adult reader\'s advisor. Requests interlibrary loan materials for out-of-state requests; places patron holds on library books and materials; selects adult fiction and non-fiction library materials and maintains a balanced collection; QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of four year college, Master\'s Degree in Library Science from a program accredited with the American Library Association strongly preferred; 1-2 yrs of exp in library services, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience; knowledge of library science and management principles, practices and procedures, library programs, services, and operations, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent customer service skills. Candidates for this position should proficiently use applicable computer software, e-mail and the internet.
