We are in search of a Controller to be part of our team in the Commercial Real Estate industry situated in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role involves overseeing all aspects of commercial property management accounting for a large portfolio and working together with leaders from other departments to foster the growth of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Portfolio Manager/Asset Manager to sustain the profitability of the portfolio

• Oversee cash management of the allocated portfolio, including funding requests

• Contribute to the acquisition of new properties/portfolios

• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy

• Compile, scrutinize, and disseminate month-end financials, making adjustments as needed

• Develop and review monthly financial packages for assigned portfolio, including but not limited to Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget Variance, and Executive Summary

• Evaluate and analyze transactions from Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable to ensure they are accurately coded and recorded. Identify, investigate, and resolve or report discrepancies

• Prepare Balance Sheet tie-out and maintain supporting account schedules

• Post accrual entries with supporting documentation and account reconciliations

• Post registers and ledgers, balance and reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries or adjustments to accounts as needed

• Ready year-end packages for tax accounting and external auditing

• Communicate directly with clients and owners.

Requirements • Proficiency in managing all Accounting Functions

• Extensive experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proven skills in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Deep understanding of Auditing processes

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Knowledge in Lease Accounting

• Experience in conducting Month End Close activities

• Ability to prepare and analyze Monthly Statements
