Description
The YWCA Central Massachusetts is looking for a gym instructor to join our fitness team and can provide a fun environment for elementary school age children on Friday mornings throughout the school year. The gym instructor is responsible for assisting in creating a curriculum to help develop student’s interest in physical education.
This position is for Friday mornings 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Tentatively, September- May
Responsibilities:
Help create, design, and implement a program that are age appropriate for upper and lower elementary school age children.
Greet students and teachers.
Create a welcoming and fun atmosphere for students.
Supervise children during activities in the gymnasium.
Handle problems that arise and report them to the appropriate supervisor accordingly.
Ensuring safety of students during activities
Keeping students engaged during activities.
Notify supervisor of any facility or equipment repair needs.
Enforce the policies and rules of the program and facility.
Keep program spaces organized and free of clutter.
Attending scheduled meetings to share information and ideas.
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Knowledge on Youth and Youth development
Certification or relevant experience in physical education for early childhood and/or school age youth.
First Aid/ CPR/ AED Certified
Interpersonal and Communication skills
Focus on client satisfaction.
