Worcester Art Museum Visitor Experience Associate in Worcester, Massachusetts
Job Overview: To provide exceptional customer service that enhances the visitor experience by welcoming guests to the Museum and providing information on exhibitions, events, membership, and programs. To support the visitor experience while collecting admission fees and attendance data and selling memberships. Duties/Responsibilities: \ Greet Museum visitors in a respectful and courteous manner. Provide excellent customer service by provide information and answer inquiries regarding exhibitions, events, programming, the Museum, and the surrounding area. \ Promote and sell Museum memberships and provide clear, and accurate information on membership benefits. \ Utilize Museum Point of Sale (POS) software for admission tickets, memberships, and donations. \ Assist visitors to understand Museum policies regarding touching of artwork, photography, backpacks, and food and beverages. \ Accurately reconcile end of shift operating cash and credit card receipts, and complete necessary reports for Manager \ Maintain Visitor Centers with required collateral; maintain cleanliness of this space \ Answer telephone inquiries; re-direct as needed \ Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications: \ Ability to work well with others; to be resourceful and forthcoming; to problem-solve and be pro-active \ Commitment to outstanding customer service and high standard of professionalism \ Experience with POS systems and cash handling \ Regular and reliable attendance \ Excellent verbal and written communication skills \ Weekends required and some evenings \ Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives Education and Experience: \ High School graduate preferred or in lieu of formal education, equivalent position experience. \ 1+ year in cash handling preferred. \ Background in customer service.
